obvious background noise occurs when playing DSD file using ASIO(Creative)

I recently received a DAC the Creative SoundBlaster G6

and I notice it does support DoP 64/128..

although I know the driver quality is not good for Creative..

no matter what, I  did some testing

WASAPI mode: ok, it’s working

ASIO mode: weird background noise

 

also, I have tested the foobar2000..

well, it’s working in ASIO mode..

I’m not sure if it’s a driver issue?

I’ve tested some higher-end DACs

definitely they all good working…

 

with Creative ASIO driver, background noise issue only occurs in playing DSD

You are using DoP with ASIO driver. In many cases, ASIO does not require DoP (ASIO 2.1 native DSD mode is used instead of DoP). But some devices like OPPO is requiring DoP with ASiO driver.

I do not know what is correct for your Creative Sound Blaster ASIO. But I thought it’s worth a try to playback without DoP.

Regarding your inquiry, we have tested TuneBrowser 3.5.2 without any issues. Hence, it could be due to compatibility.
