Tree Queries – Show Albums Never Played – Possible?

Greetings,

I would like TuneBrowser to show me ONLY albums I have never played by 2 criteria:

(a) Album – Never Played (All Tracks)

Explanation: Show only Albums where ALL ALBUM TRACKS have not been played.

(b) Album – Never Played (Some Tracks)

Explanation: Show only Albums where SOME ALBUM TRACKS remain un-played.

If this possible with a new Tree View query?

I setup two new queries, see attached screen copy.  I need some help with the query syntax (refer pink color in screen copy).  🙂

Maybe its currently not possible?

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for interesting question. To class tracks played/unplayed, use this query as Tree query:

$IFMATCH(%X_PLAYCOUNT,INT%,0,Unplayed,Played)\%ALBUM%

Last of “,Played” argument is optinal.

The next step, “All Tracks” / “Some Tracks” classing is difficult(^^;. I have no idea to present it now…

Hello Tiki

With your help, it works 🙂

Now I can clearly see TRACKS from Albums I have never played (or played).

So now, I rip a CD, it appears in the Unplayed list.  As each TRACK is played that TRACK moves to the played list.  Finally when ALL TRACKS are played from a CD, it ONLY appears in the played list.

Perfect!

I used: $IFMATCH(%X_PLAYCOUNT,INT%,0,Tracks Unplayed,Tracks Played)%ALBUM%

Thank you for your confirmation. It’s nice to hear your “Perfect!” (^^)

Now I can clearly see TRACKS from Albums I have never played (or played).

Have you achieved your goal? “All Tracks”/”Some Tracks” classfication is still difficult. It may be impossible with current TuneBrowser function.

Yes! 🙂

With the query sample you provided, I was able to see the way TuneBrowser manages the (track) played ‘flag’ in relation to each ‘Album’.  The current TuneBrowser function is logical perfect for my needs.

I would suggest adding the sample (you supplied) Tree Query for:
“Album Tracks – Played | Unplayed” in a future TuneBrowser release, many people may find this useful.
